How Behavioral Day Services Can Meet New DDS Training Requirements Without Breaking the Bank
Overview of the New DDS Training Requirements for Behavioral Day Services
Recent DDS regulations have introduced significant changes to behavioral day services, especially regarding staff training. In addition to requiring 2 hours of service per month (averaged semi-annually per participant), staff must now complete a one-time behavior-focused training program aligning with the Behavior Analytic Certification Board’s RBT 40-Hour Training Requirements.
New staff must complete this training within 12 months of hire, while existing staff have until June 30, 2026, to meet the requirement.
